What is a 1040EZ Form?
The 1040EZ or the “Income Tax Return for Single and Joint Fillers with No Dependents”, as officially called, is a less complicated form for Federal income tax return issued by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Who can use the 1040EZ form?
This is meant to help those who have a rudimentary tax situation – less than $100,000 as a taxable income, less than $1,500 as an interest income, no dependents and fulfill some further conditions set by the IRS.
You shouldn’t fill-up the 1040EZ form if you are over 65 years, you are blind or you have received any kind of advance earned income payment credits. You should know that not anyone should just fill out a 1040EZ, consider getting help from RG Brenner the tax pros. The tax payers can use this simplified form if they don’t claim any adjustments to earnings, if they’ve only had wages, salaries, tips, taxable scholarships and fellowship grants or unemployment compensation. There are also some extra-rules for those who were alien non-residents during 2009.
As for the marital status, you can fill-in:
• single – if you were never married, you were legally separated at the end off the last year or widowed before the beginning of the year you’re paying taxes for;
• married filing jointly – you were married at the end of the last year, even if you and your spouse did not live together; you’re wife died, but you didn’t remarry;
What happens if you file late?
Unless you have a reasonable explanation to attach to your file, the penalties vary from 5-25% of the amount due for every month of part of the month for which the payment is delayed. If the delay is bigger than 60 days, then you will pay a minimum penalty of $135 or the amount of the sum due, depending on which one is higher.

When you do your tax return electronically, you can be sure that the information is correct. Not more than one person to read manually, tax forms.

Are you sure you are using the calculator for the correct form? This is indicating you have 4 children under the age of 16 is this correct? I would assume that you will recieve the lesser amount just because the calculator is very accurate…

I cannot believe health insurance premiums continue to rise as they have been. We have individual (i.e. family) coverage, and our rates have increased over 33% in each of the last 2 years. This does not include a change in our age group. That will be coming next year as I turn 30. This rate of cost increases cannot continue. What’s going to happen to people who make less than we do? (And are typically younger, and who typically make less money.) They will start to drop off of the lists of those who are insured. And the cycle will continue. Does the recent health care reform change any of this? For us it’s only a matter of time before I either have to drop off the roles of the insured, or change my lifestyle completely by selling my house, or worse. Maybe we’ll have to move to Europe, where coverage is mandatory.
